Trapia holds a comprehensive quality and food safety framework built on six internationally recognised certifications. From ASC and BAP to JAKIM Halal and EU Approved status, our systems are designed to meet the requirements of every major import market — enabling buyers to source with confidence, regardless of destination. At Trapia Malaysia, quality and food safety are embedded across every stage of our operations, from farm to processing, ensuring consistent compliance with international standards.
Our farming and processing systems meet key global standards:
Countries recognise JAKIM
Global benchmark
JAKIM — the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia — is the government authority responsible for Halal certification in Malaysia. Unlike private certifiers, JAKIM operates under federal law with full government oversight, making Malaysian Halal certification one of the most widely recognised and trusted in the world, accepted across 82+ countries.
JAKIM is a government body, not a private certifier. This means Malaysian Halal certification carries the weight of sovereign authority, not commercial interest.
Full supply chain Halal integrity from feed to export. Every stage of our operation — from feed sourcing through processing and packaging — maintains unbroken Halal compliance.
Opens GCC, MENA, and OIC markets. JAKIM certification is the key that unlocks access to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s 57 member states and beyond.
EU Approved status means our facility has been inspected and listed by European Commission authorities as meeting EU food safety and hygiene requirements. This is not a voluntary certification — it is a regulatory prerequisite for any establishment wishing to export animal products into the European Union.
Global Aquaculture Alliance
Best Aquaculture Practices certification from the Global Aquaculture Alliance is the standard most frequently required by large-scale retail buyers. BAP evaluates the entire aquaculture supply chain across four pillars, ensuring that every aspect of production meets internationally benchmarked standards.
Responsible management of water, waste, and ecosystem impact throughout operations.
Fair labour practices, worker welfare, and community engagement standards.
Rigorous hygiene, traceability, and contamination prevention protocols.
Humane handling, low-stress environments, and responsible husbandry.
